What is your area of interest/specialism (textiles, photography, painting, fashion …….)?

My interset are textiles,photography,fine liner & fashion

Why do you enjoy working in this way?

i like it because i can bring all my interest into one project and it all fits in very well and also i can be on my own and its just really relaxing for me to do these, i’ve also grown up with textiles as my mum sews so when i was younger i always helped her! i love photography because i started that at a young age and been working with myself for over 7 years and then started getting help just over 2 years now, i find it really relaxing and i just love how you can change pictures and edit them! just love photography. I’ve only just got into fashion but i love working with clothes and drawing design i find that you could just started doing patterns and it can be creative into something awesome

What skills do you want to develop over the course of the next 8 weeks?

i want to develop my photography skills and my fashion because i want to know more about it! i already know a lot about photography but i could of missed stuff out so i would want to see if i don’t know anything

Do you prefer working 2D or 3D, explain why?

i like working in both because i love doing things difference sometimes and i loe working in 3D because it means you can get dirty and messy but also you can creative some amazing things with 3D and also 2D within the 3D.

Have you got any initial ideas of what you want to produce within this project?

i kinda want to bring 3D into my 2D because i think i’ll get a a lot of different materials in and also i might get a better grade for doing something big! and challenging myself

observational drawing.

Today i did some observational drawing! We had to pick out some different materials to work with and so we got told what to do and what to pick and these are my finally outcomes of my drawings.

this piece of work i did was with fine liner and i tried to get it the same but this isn’t really the type of stuff i do and so it was really difficult for me to draw because i used to drawing animals or fashion in fine liner so i didn’t really like this task as because it was very frustrating and hard for me to do.

This piece i used collage and colour pen in and i found this really hard so i tried to find the easiest thing to do so it would be frustrating for me to do but i really didn’t like the outcome because i think it doesn’t really look like the cloud looks more like a map and i just didn’t like how i did it and its a material im really not used to.

This time i used a bio pen which was kinda hard to use but was very interesting to us because i thought i wouldn’t able to work with this but i kinda like how its turned out and it gave a straight forward piece and you didn’t have to put little detail in! im not really into this observational drawing and it was really hard for me because im not a big observational drawer and i like to draw my own things and it was just hard drawing from something i didn’t want to do but it was growing on me! more practice more i’d get better at it!

last one i did was pencil and i don’t usually work with pencil as because i like messy work and im a fine liner person and this was a really big no no for me but i thought you know what this is how i started drawing so ll give it a go and it was very challenging because im used to working with pen that doesn’t smudge or leave a mess and the pencil just got everywhere and it really annoyed me! i really like how my cloud area came out because i think it gives the edgy look and i thought it looked really good! the way i used it was by putting the pencil on its side and lighting going over the paper!

Artist research

Ive been looking at sewing,photography and fine liner artist which are been put together but as because its a very modern thing the artist are very hard to find but i have found some amazing picture and found the artist names on who has done the drawings! i have some artist which will have more information as because they are bigger artists.

Melissa Zexter

Melissa Zexter was born in Rhode Island and is currently living and working in Brooklyn, NY. She holds a BFA in Photography from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA in Photography from New York University/International Center of Photography.”

Most of Melissa exhibition are in the US and she hasn’t been to the UK to exhibit her work

Analysis for Melissa Zexter

I really like her art work as because it got lovely colour in the pieces like her background of the pictures are a very old fashioned style and i just love how the sewing goes with the picture and it give the creepy side to it but its a very beautiful creepy style! like it gets you thinking why has she done it that why! I love the tone she has done with the colours there are normally bright or a very faded colour which i just love about it! i think it appeals me a lot because i just love how unique it is and how different it is! the pattern is very basic it just looks like on some pictures shes just sew in random places but in some it looks like she has put items in like on the black and white picture there’s a bird on it and i really like that picture! Her technique is photography and embroidering and i think it goes really well and very modern in a way! but in some ways its very old fashioned! i think shes tried to bring the old to the new and make it modern but have it old as well which i like about it! I will be differently be trying this out with my own photography picture and ill be making it very edgy like old styled so it give it the effect i have tried to make it like hers but doing it in my own way so im not over copying her!

Izziyana Suhaimi

”zziyana Suhaimi is an embroidery photo artist from Singapore. her pieces of work are a mixture of illustration, watercolours and embroidery. Izziyana doesn’t have any training in illustration and she thinks that it is not necessary to express yourself.  Suhaimi first stumbled upon this hybrid technique while doing a school project on medical illustrations. After a bit of experimentation and a lot of enjoyment with embroidery, she soon began incorporating the craft into the majority of her work. As the artist says, the beauty of art is in its variety and diversity.”

Analysis for Izziyana

I have chosen Izziyana as because she has brought sewing and fashion and drawing into one picture which i think is amazing and a lot of work! as you have to draw the picture then sew but make it fashionable! i love the colours she has worked with and the tones shes used in her pictures as i think it brings out her pictures and it make you look at them and think wow they are amazing! you can tell she has put a lot of time and effort into these pieces of work she has made! i love the materials she used such as needle and thread and pencil and paper i just think it brings out the urban and vintage effect out and i love how its very modern but has a very edgy style to it like a Boho style which is a fashion style at the moment! I think she has used watercolours in some of her art work and she has drawn in some and also used fine liner so she has used a lot of materials in her work and that is what has inspired me with her because she has so many techniques and its so modern id defiantly have this on my wall! i have been very influenced in her because i love fashion and i love sewing and she made them come together amazing! and i just love them so much!

            

 

Maurizio Anzeri

Analysis for Maurizio Anzeri

I love his work and i love the way he has found old vintage pictures and just sew on there faces i think it give it a very unique style and i love how all his work is different but always on a old photo and always on the face! i love the colour and patterns he uses as there are mostly straight or round and not very messy there are very perfect its like he wanted to make it perfect so people know hes took time to make his work perfect! the materials he has used is sewing and finding old photos so photography his techniques i love because hes made it so you know its his work by the way he only does the faces and how he doesn’t do any other body part! i think hes inspired by the way its only the face and you can still see there faces so it give the effect of a over lay and i just love how you can see the face even tho he has sewed over it! just love it! he has influenced me by making it one thing like hes done the face and that’s what his art work is known by because he only does sewing on the faces so i think im going to try and do something like that so people know its my art work and its my kinda logo in a way!

  

Jose Romussi

”Jose Romussi was born in 1979 in Santiago, Chile . he grew up watching his mom paint and that was was his first approach to art. When he was  about 10 years old, he moved to Valparaiso, and there he stopped interacting with art for a long time until he graduated from school and began doing some landscaping work.  In 2010 when he was in New York he decided that art was what he wanted to do, and there he started doing some art work evolving embroidery and painting. From 2010 to 2014 he worked with different themes like ballerinas, portraits with embroidered flowers and skulls and also landscapes, among other themes.”

Analysis for Jose Romussi

I really like Jose work as because he has a different range of the embroidering in his photos and i love how some of his picture have been photograph in this time of year but used a old camera and i love how some of his work has been taken like they are holding something and then he has gone in with a needle and thread and starting sewing things into it so it looks like they are holding it! i love the materials he has used such as a old camera,sewing and i love how he has got models to stand in front of the camera holding there hands out! like the other artist he has been using sewing and photography to make it a lovely piece and i just love the colours and the futuristic style to the picture it kinda has a star trek theme to it if you think about it! and i love the picture with the London map on! its just very creative and i think he has inspired me to take pictures of things that look like people are holding the item (sewing drawing) love them so much and he is very talented! i also like how on one picture he hasn’t cut off the thread so its kinda make a trail of the thread going down the picture and i think it give it more unique style to his work and it looks very creative and different to all the other artist ive looked at!

Environment is a very open and big thing as because when you think of environment you just think of thinks recycled and  making things echo friendly to help the planet! well actually there’s so many things you can class as the environment like a town/city that’s a environment as because its different and not every town/city are the same like for example what do you think about new york? hos there environment? well they kinda have a bad environment as because they are polluting the air with chemicals and its so busy it just gas everywhere from cars but its still a lovely place! when i went to new york the building are so beautiful and that’s what makes new york, new york and the face that the environment isn’t very nice its has the urban effect on so that’s why that can be in the environment because you could take a picture of litter on the street? homeless guy? food cart guy? building? and to make it more urban put the picture in black and white! that’s one thing that you can do with the environment!

Animals,nature (landscape) & weather

Animals and nature is another environment thing as when you look at a animal you are looking at the animal in there natural environment so say if you saw a elephant where would you see it? you would see them in Africa in a hot environment you wouldn’t see them in a cold environment because they wont live! and that’s another thing you can do for environment! Landscape now! if you look at different landscape picture of weather and places that’s another environment as its a place which has different things in and maybe has animals living there! also humans! weather come in with this as well because it does effect the environment a lot (global warming) but that’s making the environment bad! different places have effect on weather changing as lets say England we get all season and when we get snow we can get it bad and that can be bad for the environment as its hard for people to travel, could destroy things some people don’t really expect things to happen its like when it floods we can get it really bad that it can flood roads and even houses! so weather is important in environment.

Unit 8 : Environment

Today we got our brief on what our final unit is and its about environment Amy explain on what we are going to be doing for the next couple of weeks and shes set out the days so we know what to bring and what to expect which i think is a good ideas as it give us a good idea on what we are doing and just make it a little less stressful!

we have four sets that we get marked on to get our merit or distinction which are the learning outcomes at the bottom of that page! its good that they’ve give us all this to read as it give us some ides on what we should do and maybe get some ideas for final piece!

i think the project is going to be good because its very open you can fit pretty much everything in this category and it gives the students a big space on what to do so you are all not doing the same thing which is really good!

Final Development on fashion designs

Developing Fashion Designs on photoshop

I decided to do fashion and develop this and i thought it would be good to use photoshop and so i went online to look at some white skinny jeans and these are the normal pair of skinnys:

After i found the pair i wanted i took a picture of my pattern from my art book and put it onto photoshop:

After i took my picture i took it into photoshop and got the magic wand and deleted the background like so:

Then i took it into my other photo (the jeans) and put the layer on soft light which kinda overlays the picture and this is what i got out of it all!

After i did the jeans i looked for a dress like my designs so i could get a good idea on what i want to do.

After i got the dress i got my circle drawing and started to put it onto my bottom half on the dress and then i took a picture of my other drawing i did which was lines:

Then i edited it onto photoshop and took the background out like so:

And when i finished that i started to overlay the pictures into the dress and the lines picture i put it on the open cut on her back and it actually looks like a lace time back and i think it turned out well.

London fashion week 2015

We got set to look at london fashion week and find some outfits that we liked and i really liked this outfit because it really casual but looks smart in the same way! and i love how the colours are not set thet are patched worked and i think it goes really well and i think the bag goes really well with the outfit!

Quick photography edits

We had to go round college with the ipads and take a picture of a image but take 5 images of the same thing then we had to edit each one differently.

this was one of the edits i did and i didn’t crop it but i changed the effect to black and white  and it came out really well!

After i did that one in black and white i did some cropping the other pictures and this is what i did:
